Cheap hotels in Zurich

Tourist and business destination, Zurich offers a wide range of accommodation options, with approximately 150 facilities available to travelers and businessmen. The capital of homonymous canton is rich in monuments, churches, historic buildings and museums, but it is also a lively city with many bars, nightclubs and restaurants.

The selection of cheap hotels in Zurich, typically 2 or 3 star hotels, is quite large, even if prices are generally rather high. Along the right bank of River Limmat and in the historical centre of the city, near the Bahnhofstrasse, the main shopping street and night life hub, the cheapest 3 star hotels have prices never below 70-80 Euros per night for a Double room with breakfast included.

A little less expensive rooms, starting at 60 Euros, can be found in the hotels on the opposite bank of the river, for example, in Aussersihl or in Bahnhofplatz, the square in front of the train station, or Hauptbahnhof; however, all these areas are no more than a fifteen minute walk from the centre.

If you wish to pay even less, starting from 50 Euros per night, you can choose a hotel located 2 to 3 Km north of downtown, in the areas of Seebach and Oerlinkon. The small size of the city and the excellent public transport network, makes also hotels a little distant from the centre easily reachable for those visiting the city.
