Cheap hotels in Lisbon

The range of accommodation in Lisbon has been greatly enriched over time and consequently the prices of the rooms are aligned with those of other major European cities. Even for Lisbon high season exists, it is the period between June and September, a time when it is advisable to book in advance even at budget hotels.

The offer of cheap hotels in Lisbon is large and diversified. One and two star hotels are quite common in the area of Baixa and Barrio Alto and cost on average 40-60 Euros per room, breakfast not included. Even 3-star hotels in central districts, as in the neighborhood of Saldanha and in streets near Avenida da Liberdade, offer excellent accommodation and services at affordable prices: 50-80 Euros per night with breakfast.

Travelers who know Portugal, will know Pousadas as well, a sort of chain-hotel association, which collects facilities with up to 20 rooms housed within ancient palaces and historical buildings. In the city there are some Pousadas and some others are available in the province, in Queluz and Palmela, 20 km away from the city centre, and also in Setubal 50 km away driving on the highway. Prices range from a minimum of 60 Euros to a maximum of 120 Euros depending on the type of accommodation.
