Choosing a B&B in Lisbon

In recent years, B&Bs are spreading in Lisbon too. It is a type of accommodation in private apartments, cozy and clean, with breakfast included in the room rate and offered at a price that ranges between 35 and 50 Euros. Several B&Bs are located on the waterfront of Lisbon, in the district of Santos and Rua da Bica do Sapato.

An alternative to B&B are guesthouses, also called residencial or pensões/pensãos. These are accommodation housed in small properties of only a few rooms with breakfast included, but not featuring restaurant service. They are cheap hotels with rooms for 2/3 people with shared bathroom. Many residencial are also present in the old city and in the area of the main train station Cais do Sodre. Guest houses rates are quite similar to those of B&Bs, between 40 and 50 Euros per room.
