Choosing a hostel in Amsterdam

Staying in a hostel in Amsterdam is a great choice for young people or travelers with a limited budget. In Amsterdam, hostels are of good quality and most of them are located near the city centre: they are especially popular in the period between April and September, when early booking is recommended.

Most hostels in Amsterdam consists of real dormitories, with rooms and shared bathrooms. The common areas are generally well organized with TV and seating areas. In many hostels there is a zoning for men and women, but in the booking form there is the possibility to request rooms for couples or small groups of friends as well. The best hostels, and therefore less economical, feature also small apartments with kitchen.

The average price for a night in a hostel in Amsterdam ranges between 15 and 30 Euros. With the International Youth Hostel Federation pass, which costs 5 Euros a year, you can get additional discounts.
