The capital of Latvia is the most important economic and financial center of the country. More than half of Latvian industrial production is carried out in the metropolitan area of Riga, from food to textiles, from electronic components to furniture. Overlooking the Baltic Sea, Riga is slowly becoming a major tourist center, well connected by sea with ferries to Sweden and Germany.
The commercial and tourist vocation of Riga is strongly bonded with the development of an excellent reception service, with more than 170 hotels concentrated on the right bank of the river Daugava and in particular in the districts of Vecpilseta and Centrs, the old part of Riga.
Cheap hotels in Riga are generally housed in old restored buildings, but offer all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay: Wi-Fi in your room or in the common areas, buffet breakfast, private bathroom, cable TV and mini bar.
The price of cheap hotels is great, 25-30 to 50 Euros for a double room with breakfast. Especially thought for western tourists, also 4-star hotel in Riga are attractive, with average prices ranging from 50 to 70 Euros.
