Choosing a hostel in Vienna

As throughout Austria, even in Vienna hostels are cosy and well furnished accommodation. That’s why hostels in Vienna are always crowded: it’s recommended to book hostels in advance, especially in the period between March and May, and in December, when the city changes into a flea market of lights, colors and sweets.

The average rate for a hostel in Vienna starts from 20 Euros per night and includes in addition to a bed in dorm with shared bathroom, the possibility to use the kitchen (breakfast is often included), private lockers and 24 hour reception service. It is possible to choose even rooms with 2-4 beds at a similar price: 80-90 Euros for 4 people.

In Vienna, in addition to hostels there are tourist homes, called Kolpinghaus, often required by agencies that organize travels for young people and students.
