Choosing a B&B in Vienna

In Vienna there are not many B&Bs: in the entire range of budget solutions, B&Bs are just a dozen. Always family-run, they offer a rich breakfast, en-suite bathroom and sometimes the possibility to use the kitchen. Rates start from 70-80 Euros per night. Of course, in the historical centre prices are higher, while in the areas near the airport or 15-30 km away from the city centre, prices range between 45-50 Euros per night.

As an alternative to B&Bs there are many guesthouses in Vienna, Pension in German, that are properties with a maximum of 10-15 rooms. Pensions can be found in every area of the city: in Der Erste in the streets close to the pedestrian area, in Leopoldstadt near the Prater, in Alsergrund, the university area. The price for a guesthouse in Vienna starts from 40-50 Euros, often includes breakfast, but there’s no restaurant service. En-suite bathroom is always available, while with regards to the presence of TV and Internet connection, you should check in advance from time to time.
